Our shrinking world
I had Thai food for lunch today: noodles with chicken and red peppers; and sticky rice with mango pieces for dessert. (It was a tasty lunch.)
What first piqued my curiosity, then left me amazed was this: the Thai food I ate came from Thailand. It was made in Thailand, packed in inventive packaging (compact, interlocking boxes, with a forklike utensil), and shipped frozen all the way to my nearby Picard frozen-foods store in Paris.
What an amazing development!
